'Drag Race' Nina West in New Queer Zombie Flick from George A. Romero's Daughter

"Drag Race" star Nina West is getting ready to make her big undead debut.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, West received a call from a friend about a vision for a film and to see if she would be interested.
"Zelda Williams calls. 'My friend has you on their vision board for this movie. Would you be OK if I introduced you?'" recalled West, who is also known as Andrew Levitt.
That mutual friend turned out to be Tina Romero, filmmaker and daughter of late zombie maestro George A. Romero, the legendary director of "Night of the Living Dead."
Tina reportedly received her father's blessing, before his death in 2017, to do her own spin on the undead universe called "Queens of the Dead."
A horror-comedy, the film will center on drag queens and club kids in a battle against the undead after everything goes south at a Brooklyn drag show.
"It's this queer cast of remarkable magic," said West. "It is camp. It is horror. I've never seen an undead movie like it."
It's perfect for West.
West has been busy with her one-woman show and already has her sights set on doing more acting, in and out of drag.
"I don't need to be in drag to do a role. But it is a skill for sure that I bring to the table, and it's also informed me in the storytelling that I can do," said West.
We can't wait.
