Lady Parts Justice Launches Second Annual V to Shining V

EDGE READ TIME: 6 MIN.

On Saturday, September 26, get your girls together to drink, laugh, and help remove politicians from office who support anti-abortion legislation. Lady Parts Justice -- a collaborative team of comedians, cultural influencers, technologists and activists who are using humor and outrage to expose, remove and replace anti-choice zealots with pro-choice, pro-women politicians -- have announced The Second Annual V To Shining V.

"The 2014 debut of V To Shining V mobilized people all across the country to continue this spark of activism with their friends, proving that we can incorporate fighting for reproductive justice in our social lives and begin to shatter the fucked up notion that a feminist is a buzz kill," wrote organizers.

For its sophomore year, Lady Parts Justice have some amazing public parties planned. They will host parties in NYC, DC, Austin, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis, Portland, and Madison. Events will feature Lady Parts Justice's fearless leader and Co-Creator of "The Daily Show," Lizz Winstead and Former Candidate for Lieutenant Governor and Michigan House of Representative Lisa Brown.

Other guests include Ted Leo, The Citizens Band, Leah Bonnema, Janeane Garofalo, Comedians Katrina Coleman, Amy Sulam, Mike Brown, Lisa Michaels, and Lila Bear, Musical Comedy Duo Reformed Whores, All-Female Hip Hop Collective The Foundation and more!

All of the upcoming events on September 26 have a common thread: combining party games, hilarious videos, music, comedians, unapologetic straight-talks and more, in order to spread awareness and educate people about the eroding access to abortion and voting rights in their communities.

"Join us for the second annual V To Shining V, however you can, and help prevent politicians from sneaking harmful anti-abortion legislation into law," write organizers. "Together we can incorporate feminism and activism into our everyday lives. If there isn't an event planned near you, then host a house party, a pub crawl, picnic, or something fun to bring even more folks together to learn what's at stake politically and become their own agents of change."
