Winter Party Benefits LGBTQ Task Force

EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Get your brushes, molding clay and cameras ready as Winter Party Festival is calling all talented artists to submit works of visual art for the popular exhibition and silent auction, ArtScape, one of the many and varied events to take place during the six-day LGBTQ celebration. ArtScape will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden with proceeds from the art sale benefiting the National LGBTQ Task Force and local organizations.

The recommended theme for this year's ArtScape artwork is "Just Be ...", and in addition to all the visual excitement from the art, the event will feature live entertainment, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are on sale now at www.winterparty.com/buy.

"We are really energized about this year's ArtScape event as every year we get the opportunity to introduce our guests to amazing and talented artists who are willing to donate their artwork to support the LGBTQ community," said Justin Bell, chair of Winter Party Festival. "Winter Party is more than great dance events, it's an artistic and cultural celebration as well.''

Both professional and amateur artists, crafts people, designers, videographers and photographers working in any two-dimensional discipline are encouraged to submit items for the exhibition. All submitted artwork must be of original design, personal execution and free from any copyright for display and photography at the event. Artists whose artwork is chosen for exhibition at ArtScape will receive two tickets to attend the event.

To have work displayed at ArtScape, artists should email two, high-quality digital images in JPEG format at 300 dpi, 900 pixels on the longest side, for each piece submitted. An overall view in full-frame showing the complete work is requested. Ideally, physical artwork should be no taller or wider than four feet, but arrangements can be made for larger pieces. Images, along with a submission form, must be emailed no later than Monday, February 2, 2015, to [email protected].

For more information or for an ArtScape submission form, contact Lisa Mercado at (305) 571-7294 or [email protected].
