BOSTON, MA - The Third Annual Taste of Provincetown, which benefits MassEquality, will take place Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 6pm at Provincetown Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street.

Attendees will enjoy gourmet hors d'oeuvres, les amuse-bouches, and fine wines and cocktails contributed by some of Cape Cod's most highly-rated restaurants and celebrity chefs. Individual tickets are $125.

Sweet Cheeks chef-owner Tiffani Faison will headline the event by refereeing a cooking challenge by three Provincetown chefs, including Chef Lucio Garnica of Sage Inn & Lounge. Each chef will work with a sous chef of their own selection as well as an audience member who may - or may not - have culinary experience.

The audience slots of the cooking teams will be auctioned before the cooking challenge takes place. Judges for the contest will include Frank Vasello, chef/owner of Relish, who won last year's cooking competition, and Rob Wilson, the foodie extraordinaire behind the popular BosGuy blog.

"I'm thrilled to be participating again in MassEquality's Taste of Provincetown," said Faison, who was one of two finalists on the first season of Bravo's Top Chef and was the winner of Bravo's 2007 Top Chef Holiday Special.

"This event combines my passion for good food and fun, with my commitment to equality."

"Taste of Provincetown is a great night out on the Cape and supports the critical work that MassEquality does to ensure that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in Massachusetts are protected from cradle to grave," said MassEquality Executive Director Kara Suffredini, Esq.

Taste of Provincetown will feature a silent auction with gifts donated by local merchants. Some of the items include a custom portrait by Rota Portrait Design and Bruins tickets.

Participating restaurants include Victor's, Central House at the Crown, Saki, Bayside Betsy's, The Waterford Inn, Caf, & Tavern, Jimmy's Hideaway, Far Land Provisions, Patio American Grill & Cocktail Bar, Relish, Ptown Scoop, Ptown Parties, Ten Tables, The Lobster Pot, Sage Inn & Lounge, Angel Foods, Bistro at Crowne Pointe, ScottCakes, Dalla Cucina, Castaways, Batata, Waydowntown, Karoo Kaf, The Nut House, Frappo66, Chach, and Devon's.
