Give a Duckie to Fight Childhood Cancer

The holiday season is coming quick and philanthropic shoppers with big hearts and tight budgets will be looking for ways to make a difference, even during a difficult economy. This is where we can help.

Every year, with the help of Macy's Department Stores and online, Aflac produces and sells a unique plush holiday duck for a worthy cause. It is so important, because all (100%) of the proceeds from every duck sold is donated to fight pediatric cancer in the locality where the duck is sold. More than $3 million has been raised over 11 years for childhood cancer centers around the country including the Aflac Cancer Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

The unique 2011 Aflac Holiday Duck is dressed in a warm scarf and matching hat with ear flaps, invoking frosty images of winter. This year Macy's has expanded its commitment to the fight against childhood cancer by selling the Aflac Holiday Duck nationally at more than 670 Macy's stores, up from 211 stores in 2010.

The holiday duck is priced for people who are watching their spending at $10 for the six inch version and $15 for the 10 inch. They go on sale at participating Macy's and at www.aflacholidayduck.com beginning on November 1st.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, one of the leading pediatric healthcare systems in the country, is pleased to offer Health and Safety Tips for parents and children. You can view a variety of expert tips at www.choa.org/healthandsafetytips.

Children's is a not-for-profit organization that benefits from the generous philanthropic and volunteer support of our community.
