Come Out with Pride at Lake Eola Park in Orlando

Thursday September 23, 2021

The following is a press release from Come Out With Pride:

Come Out With Pride, Orlando's largest single-day parade and festival celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, will take place in person at Lake Eola Park on Saturday, October 9. A variety of health and safety measures will be implemented throughout the event in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This year's theme — Unified By Pride — was chosen to represent our incredibly diverse community celebrating together once again," said Tatiana Quiroga, Executive Director for Come Out With Pride. "To help keep everyone safe, individuals are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated, wear a face mask throughout the festival and respect social distancing guidelines."

COVID-19 vaccines have proven to significantly reduce hospitalization and fatality rates even against variants such as Delta. A local survey conducted by Come Out With Pride as well as an HRC Foundation national survey both show that over 90% of LGBTQ+ adults have received at least one vaccine shot. Vaccinations and COVID-19 testing will be available on site.

To manage crowd levels, all attendees will also need to request a free RSVP in advance via Come Out With Pride's website. People who are immunocompromised, experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or do not wish to participate in person can still experience Pride through live online broadcasts from the event.

Details about this year's entertainment, Grand Marshals and other events taking place leading up to Pride will be announced at a later date via Come Out With Pride's website and social media channels. Any notable changes to our operations and/or safety protocols will also be shared online and to all attendees with an RSVP.
