Sarah Jessica Parker Addresses Death of Beloved Co-Star, Friend Willie Garson
Since the unexpected death of "Sex and the City" star Willie Garson, tributes have been pouring in from friends and acting co-workers who knew Garson best on and off screen.
But noticeably absent from those tributes was Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Garson's on-screen best gal pal throughout the "Sex and the City" series. After commenting under co-star Chris Noth's tribute that she simply was "not ready," Parker has now broken her silence in an Instagram post.
"It's been unbearable," she began the post. "Willie. I will miss everything about you. And replay our last moments together."
Garson, 57, reportedly passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was last seen filming scenes for the "Sex and the City" companion series, "And Just Like That." Before he played Parker's best friend on screen, the pair had been friends for more than 30 years.
"A real friendship that allowed for secrets, adventure, a shared professional family, truth, concerts, road trips, meals, late night phone calls, a mutual devotion to parenthood and all the heartaches and joy that accompany, triumphs, disappointments, fear, rage and years spent on sets (most especially Carrie's apartment) and laughing late into the night as both Stanford and Carrie and Willie and SJ," Parker said, attempting to capture the gravity of the loss. "Your absence a crater that I will fill with blessing of these memories and all the ones that are still in recesses yet to surface."
His last words to her were reportedly, "Great bangles all around." A goodbye that fit his fashionable and funny character on and off screen, according to Parker.
"Yes. Godspeed Willie Garson. RIP. X, SJ?," Parker ended her post. Godspeed, indeed.
