Guess where Donald Trump falls in the culture wars over trans athletes?

If you guessed not on the side of such winning trans athletes as Lia Thomas you are right. In an interview on "Piers Morgan Uncensored," Trump attacked the trans athlete, reports Pink News.

Morgan characterizing the inclusion of trans athletes in women's sports is "grotesquely unfair," after which Trump claimed he was for "a trans sports ban long before anybody else."

Morgan then asked: "One of the big questions being put to lots of politicians right now is, what is a woman?"

In typical Trump fashion, the former President said he was "not going to respond to the question," but then did so anyway by tying it to Thomas.

"A woman is somebody that swims at a certain time and doesn't get beaten by 38 seconds by somebody that wasn't even a good swimmer as a male," Trump said.

Trump was referring to the history-making triumph Thomas achieved in March when she became the first trans athlete to win an NCAA swimming championship.

She quickly became the fodder for conservative backlash (much of it transphobic) and the movement to ban trans women from competing in women's competitive events.

Trump had previously misgendered Thomas at a Texas rally in January. At that time, he also attacked trans weightlifter Laurel Hubbard.

"We will ban men from participating in women's sports," he told his toadying supporters dressed in "Trump 2024" t-shirts and hats. "So ridiculous."

"Donald Trump also spoke out against president Joe Biden and trans athletes back in 2021 during his first major speech since leaving the Oval Office," adds Pink News. Trump claimed Biden and the Democratic party are "pushing policies that would destroy women's sports".

Trump incorrectly alleged that a "lot of new records are being broken in women's sports," and claimed women's sports will "die" if trans women are allowed to compete. Trump provided no evidence to back up his claims during his speech.
